A Chicago native, Ofc. Strother pursued his higher education at Grace College (May 2000), where he earned a degree in education. He later obtained a Master of Arts from Moody Bible Institute (2008), further deepening his understanding of faith-based leadership and community service.
In 2015, Ofc. Strother joined the Chicago Police Department (CPD), where he has taken on various responsibilities, including working with the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT). His role focuses on addressing
mental health crises, de-escalation techniques, and community-based interventions to ensure public safety
while prioritizing compassionate policing.
Beyond his law enforcement duties, Strother has remained deeply involved in youth mentorship and community service. He is founder & Director of Brotherhood Mentoring, a faith-based, trauma-informed program dedicated to guiding urban youth (ages 11-17) toward positive social, emotional, and spiritual growth. His experience also includes work with Youth Guidance’s Becoming a Man (BAM) program, where he provided mentorship and life skills training for young men in Chicago. Strother has also participated in various community outreach initiatives, including school supply drives, food distributions, and fundraising efforts for fallen officers and their families.
Most recently, Ofc. Zach Strother was awarded a distinguished Humanitarian Award (May 2025), recognizing his outstanding dedication and impactful contributions to the community. Also, NASCAR & Blue Cross and Blue Shield honor Ofc. Strother as Hometown Heroes during NASCAR Chicago Steet Race Weekend (June 2025). Ofc. Strother is also a proud member of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE), where he hope to continues to champion integrity, excellence, and community service.
As Pastor of New Hope Christian Missionary Baptist Church and a valued member of our Executive Board, he is deeply committed to seeing lives transformed through meaningful relationships, faith, mentorship, and consistent investment in others. His leadership reflects a passion for building stronger individuals, families, and communities through service, encouragement, and purpose.
Working alongside her husband, she leads the Sisterhood Mentoring Network, supporting young women through mentorship, leadership development, and meaningful opportunities for personal and spiritual growth.
